What are the types of networks in the world
A network is defined as the communication of two or more devices from a computer with each other via cables, or via wireless Wi-Fi, and the size of a network can range from two devices to a large and complex network of devices.
The network is used to send information in both directions, by instant messaging, by e-mail, or through shared storage devices, and networks come in several types, and the following is an explanation of that:
Local Area Network A local network is defined as a group of computers connected to each other within a limited geographical space of an organization, where the speed of data transfer through it can reach 10 Mbps, or 1 Gbps, and the number of its users may reach about 100-1000 users.
It is worth noting that local networks can be classified according to the services they provide into two categories: the analog network, in which the communication between computers is carried out directly without the need for a central device because they are all equivalent, and the server/beneficiary network, where the central computer provides network services to the rest of the users’ devices.
Wide area network A wide area network is defined as a set of local networks interconnected with each other across wide geographical areas of an independent organization, such as: cities, countries, or continents, and the speed between local networks that make up the wide area network is usually slower than the speed between computers that make up the local network, and often an independent organization such as a company, or a government, has these networks.
Regional Network A regional network connects a group of local networks close to each other within tens of kilometers at high speed, so it enables communication between two networks that are far apart, even if they are from the same local network.
They are also connected to each other through adapters or routers connected to each other by high-speed cables, such as fiber optic cables.
